The Delaware Public Archives (DPA) is the official state archives of Delaware, serving as the primary repository for government records, historical documents, and other materials that document the state’s public life and administration.

The DPA’s holdings span over three centuries, from colonial-era land grants and legislative journals to 20th-century administrative files, private family papers, photographs, and oral histories. Collections include:

• Government records: minutes, reports, correspondence, probate files, deeds, court records, tax records, and administrative files.

• Historical documents: Delaware constitutions, coroner’s reports, scrapbooks, and ephemera.

• Genealogical materials: census records, vital statistics, land deeds, military records, and private family histories.
